Tanya Flowers works in the Ranch House Meat Co. store.

Tanya Flowers, co-owner of Project Meats, stocks a cooler at Ranch House Meat Co., the company's new retail store in Billings.

Project Meats is operating a retail location at 1313 Grand Ave., Suite 1, selling meat butchered at its longtime home in Shepherd, owners Tanya and Shane Flowers said last week.

Tanya Flowers said they opened the new Billings shop March 17 to expand their business selling jerky, smoked brats, burger patties, lunch meat and bacon.

“People in Billings have asked us to come to Billings. So we’re here,” she said.

The couple have operated the butcher shop for about seven years at 6608 Highway 312, where they process beef, pork, lamb, buffalo and other livestock.

Project Meats has been open for about 40 years and had previously only done custom orders, but the Flowerses say they are expanding their selection.

Project Meats is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
