Three members of the Billings Music Teachers Association were honored at the recent Montana State Music Teachers Association conference.

Margaret McGillvray was elected as the new state president of MSMTA. She has taught piano students for more than 20 years and is active in the local chapter, promoting music education in students and teachers.

Sherlon Orth was honored as State Teacher of the Year. She has taught piano students in Billings since 1991 in her independent studio, in addition to instructing at Montana Music Institute, a summer camp, for more than 20 years.

Palma Wolverton was honored for her 60-year career of dedicated service and teaching as a professor at Rocky Mountain College and in her independent studio.

All three teachers are nationally-certified piano teachers who have taught hundreds of piano students and have supported music education in the Billings area.
