Most readers who responded to last week's billingsgazette.com online poll predict that Gov. Judy Martz will not seek election to a second term in office. In the unscientific online poll, 365 respondents (69 percent) said Martz would decide against running for re-election. Another 162 respondents disagreed, with 162 (31 percent) saying that the first-term governor will announce her intention to run for another four-year term.

This week, as Billings plays host to the Montana Economic Development Summit, we want your opinion on this question: What should drive economic development in Montana? Private industry? State government? Federal government? A combination of public and private efforts?

This week's poll is on the first Web page of billingsgazette.com. Readers can record additional thoughts on the news message boards under the "online extras" tab at the top of any billingsgazette.com news page.
