'Steel Magnolias' at BST

Dina Brophy, right, helped bring “Steel Magnolias” to life on the BST stage along with Chae Clearwood, Kelsey Steffan, Sara Hatfield, Rita Heizer and Lisa Day. Brophy, who has been active as an actor and director in local theater for more than 15 years, will speak in the Zonta Club’s Artful Women series.

Billings performer Dina Brophy is the featured guest on May 5 in the Artful Women of Montana series.

The series, presented by the Zonta Club of Billings and the Billings Public Library, showcases women in the arts in an informal discussion with members of the public. It begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room at the library.

All are welcome to come hear Brophy talk about performing on Billings stages for more than 15 years.

Most recently, Brophy appeared as Clairee in Billings Studio Theatre’s production of “Steel Magnolias,” and at the NOVA Center for the Performing Arts as Sonia in “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike.” She also performed in the role of Barbara in “August: Osage County” in 2013.
