Rimrock Opera presents its annual spring gala, OperaFest, on Saturday, April 9, at the Yellowstone Country Club, 5707 Bobby Jones Blvd.
Master of ceremonies is Rimrock Opera’s Artistic Director Douglas Nagel will be the master of ceremonies for the festivities, which begin at 6 p.m. with hors d’oeuvre and no-host cocktails and is followed by a sumptuous gourmet dinner with select Italian wines.
Silent auction includes framed artwork, gift cards to favorite Billings restaurants and spas, opera tickets and unique gift items. Live auction items include two gourmet dinners prepared by local chefs, party for 20 catered by Tom Nelson and City Vineyard, an African photo safari, a Rimrock Opera stage appearance in a nonsinging role, and a fine jewelry item donated by Montague’s Jewelers.
A highlight of the evening is the performance by special guest soprano Brianne Roney, second place winner of the Regional Metropolitan Opera Auditions. Roney made her Rimrock Opera debut in La Traviata in October 2005. She will be joined by Rimrock Opera artist, soprano soloist Amy Logan.
Making its Rimrock Opera debut at OperaFest is the 40-voice MSU Billings University Chorus under the direction of Douglas Nagel.
Rimrock Opera Chorus for Kids (R.O.C.K.) will return for their annual OperaFest appearance with accompanist Sandi Rabas. R.O.C.K. is under the direction of Amy Logan.
