Baroque musicians Carrie Krause and John Lenti return to Columbus with The Mystical Violin and Courteous Lute: 17th Century Sonatas. Featuring classical Baroque concertos, the performance begins at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 11 at Columbus Community Congregational Church.
Following the extravagant Renaissance era, Baroque music has become one of the most recognized and popular aspects of classical music.
Both Baroque musicians specialize in historical instruments. Krause, with the Bozeman Symphony will play the Baroque violin and Lenti will play the theorbo, a six-foot-long, 14-stringed instrument.
The program will present transcendent melodies blended with historic tales incorporating the earliest violin piece ever written in England.
Tickets are $20 and $5 for students. For more information, contact Kathleen Ralph at 322-1117.
