Bluegrass groups tune up for Wilderness Association benefit
The Longtime Lonesome Dogs perform at last year's Montana Wilderness Association fundraiser.

Music for the Wild, a bluegrass music festival featuring three acts, will be held Saturday at Yellowstone Valley Brewing Company, 2123 First Ave. N., from 4 to 9:30 p.m.

The event is a fundraiser for the Montana Wilderness Association-Eastern Wildlands Chapter. Admission is $5.

Performers include the Longtime Lonesome Dogs, Spur of the Moment and Wade Montgomery. Food will be available for purchase by Dick's Dogs.

Organizer Ryan Sparhawk said the event drew more than 300 people last year.

"It's going to be a fun representation of Billings bands who can get the people dancing," Sparhawk said.

A silent auction featuring artwork and other items will also be held Saturday. Money raised will help promote the Wilderness Association's cause to protect wilderness heritage, quiet beauty and outdoor traditions, now and for future generations.

The Montana Wilderness Association was founded in 1958 by a coalition of hunters, anglers, ranchers, outfitters, backpackers and outdoor enthusiasts. It is a grassroots organization dedicated to protecting Montana's wildlands and outdoor traditions.
