NOVA plays host to improve stand-up classes

Do your friends think you’re the funniest person they know? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to do stand-up comedy or perform with an improv troupe?

NOVA Center for the Performing Arts may have just the thing for you — an opportunity to learn the ropes of stand-up and improv with local performers from Comedy Tsunami and Venture Improv.

The session will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6. Two classes, beginner and master level, will be offered twice, from 10 a.m. to noon and again from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

The cost for one class is $20 or $35 for both. With the tuition price, participants also get a ticket to the evening performance.

Registration for the master classes ends Sept. 3. The show is from 8 to 10 p.m. with Venture Improv, followed by Comedy Tsunami.

The master classes and the evening show is PG-13 and suitable for high school ages and older.

Tickets for only the show are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. People can make reservations through www.NOVAbillings.org, by phone at 591-9535 or in person at 2317 Montana Ave.
