Although the main stage acts for the ninth annual Red Ants Pants Music festival have already been announced, event promoters held out a bit on announcing the secondary stage acts, which include former Billings rocker Betsy Olson as well as current local singer/songwriter Grant Jones.
They'll perform during the festival in White Sulphur Springs, taking place July 25 - 28. The side stage has been a place for festival-goers to catch new and up-and-coming acts, and vote for their favorites. The top artist, as determined by fan votes, will be given a slot the 2020 main stage.
2019 Red Ants Pants Music Festival Side Stage acts include:
- Betsy Olson Band
- Brice Ash
- Claire Hunter
- David and Deidre Casey Band
- Five Letter Word
- Grant Jones
- Harriet Reynolds
- Jackson Holte & The Highway Patrol
- Jason Tyler Burton
- Larry Kiff, Montana Side Stage Ambassador
- Los Marvelitos
- Smith River Young
The 2019 Beard & Moustache Competition, Yodeling Contest with Suzy Bogguss, and Cowboy Church with TJ Casey will happen on this stage.
"The side stage is really a special place at the festival and we couldn’t be more excited about the talent lined up this year,” said Sarah Calhoun, festival producer, in a press release.
Last year, Texas songwriter Bo DePeña was selected as the top artist on the secondary stage, and will return to Red Ants Pants Music Festival on July 26, performing on the main stage at 4 p.m. He joins other main stage acts including Patty Griffin, Shakey Graves, Colter Wall, Suzy Bogguss, Mipso, Dustbowl Revival, to name a few.
