What: First Wednesday Book Sale.

Why: Book lovers who used to wait and wait for the Friends of the Library book sales to find bargain reads now can refresh their personal libraries on the first Wednesday of each month.
So, stock up in case winter finally hits with a vengeance and keeps you indoors.
What: Documentary Film Series: "Exit Through the Gift Shop."
When: 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5.
Where: Third floor, Parmly Billings Library.
Why: The R-rated 2010 film tells of an amateur film maker and an eccentric French shop owner who try to befriend the artist Banksy, who turns the camera back on the film maker. The movie includes footage of Bansky and other famed graffiti artists as they work.
It's arty and different. The showing is sponsored by Parmly Billings Library Foundation.

Bonus event: Coming up in the series on Jan 19 is "Page One: Inside the New York Times," an R-rated 2011 film.
What: Dueling Pianos.
When: 8 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, Jan. 5-7.
Where: Klover Room at the Red Door Restaurant & Lounge, 3875 Grand Ave.
Why: This isn't your run-of-the-mill piano performance. Expect humor, sing-alongs and other crowd interaction as Caz Bzdek, founder of Colorado-based Actual Talent Entertainment Group, and other musicians perform on two grand pianos augmented with drums, sax and guitars.
The dueling piano entertainers regularly play at some of the hottest places in the country including NewYork NewYork in Las Vegas, Sing Sing in Denver, Howl at the Moon and corporate events nationwide. Bzdek teams up with Jim Calanni and Michael Scherr for the Billings shows.
