What: “Experience The Extraordinary,” featuring mentalist Craig Karges.

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21.

Where: Alberta Bair Theater, 2801 Third Ave. N.

Why: Karges keeps audiences guessing how he does his mental gymnastics. He was recently named by Performance magazine as one of the top five touring variety-family shows of the year along with David Copperfield and Disney on Ice.

What: "The Who's Tommy."

Where: Venture Theatre, 2317 Montana Ave.

When: 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Sept. 21, 22, 28 and 29 and 2 p.m. Sundays, Sept. 23 and 30.

Why: The score of this classic '60s rock opera by The Who created memorable hits that keep drawing new fans.

The show is about Tommy, a young boy who witnesses the accidental murder of his mother’s lover by his father and who becomes catatonic.

The coming-of-age story features local performers.

What: Third annual Oktoberfest.

When: 5-10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22.

Where: Yellowstone Art Museum parking lot, 401 N. 27th St.

Why: Celebrate fall with music and sampling of more than 30 regional microbrews and meet some of the local brewers. Taste YAM ale, made with sweet potatoes. Nonalcoholic beverages will be available.

Dance to live music from the 7th Avenue Band and Downtime. Enjoy ethnic cuisine from Uberbrew and Smor.

Remember your lederhosen as a prize will be awarded for the best costume.

What: Comedian Kathleen Madigan.

When: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22.

Why: Get your laughs from the comedy of one of the best.

Madigan won the American Comedy Award for Best Female Comedian and was the only comedian in the history of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” to go unchallenged by any other comedian.

What: Auction of Arias "Opera on the Avenue."

When: 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22.

Where: McCormick Cafe, 2419 Montana Ave.

Why: Local, regional and national stars from Rimrock Opera's upcoming production "Ãida" and past productions perform songs of successful bidders' choice.
