Magic City Shorts

The Billings Gazette Enjoy and Babcock Theatre have selected the Top 8 films in the Magic City Shorts film festival.

The festival will screen 19 films on Sept. 29 at the Babcock Theatre. The Top 8 films will be shown from 7 to 10 p.m., followed by a Q & A with the filmmakers, hosted by Jaci Webb, of the Enjoy staff, and Dave Shumway, adjunct photography instructor at Rocky Mountain College. Cash prizes totalling $1,500 will be awarded the night of Sept. 29. The other films will be shown starting at noon at the Babcock Theatre. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students.

The top films are: “No Service,” by Razor’s Edge, Trevor Styles; “Acceptable Losses,” by Mikel Wolf;  “Voices of Yellowstone,” Emily Narrow; “Mr. Frank: Radio Man,” James Michaels;  “Summer of 81,” Preston Randolph;  “Water Under the Bridge,” TJ Lynch; “Knock Off,” Marshall Granger, Dan Wiemals; and “Bad Men,” Justin Reichert.
