Classical guitarist Peter Fletcher is preseting a free concert at 7 p.m. on Oct. 15 at the the Parmly Billings Library.
The New York-based guitarist will perform a program of favorites from J.S. Bach, Ravel, Paganini and other classical works.
Fletcher is in demand as a performer in cultural venues throughout the country. In 2003 he performed on the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series at the Chicago Cultural Center. In January 2005, Fletcher was invited to join the distinguished Jury of the 9th Annual Schadt String Competition in Allentown, Pa. He made his New York Debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in February 2007, and returned in 2008-2011 to a sold-out house. His next concert there is scheduled for April 2013.
A reviewer from Fanfare Magazine said, “Fletcher plays it all with a gracious virtuosity that makes for a very pleasing hour plus of unaffected musical poetry."
This performance is underwritten by The Friends of the Library, and admission is free.
