Rimrock Auto Arena security procedures will be different for the more than 8,000 fans attending the Foo Fighters concert Saturday.
MetraPark General Manager Bill Dutcher describes the changes that guests will see for this show.
"We are always very aware of providing guests with a secure, safe environment when they come to MetraPark," Dutcher said. "Foo Fighter ticket holders will be met with a number of different security measures including metal detectors. All fans will be required to pass through the devices to enter the arena."
Doors for the concert are set to open at 6 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30. There will be a special "no bag" entry on the east side of Rimrock Auto Arena nearest the upper parking lot. Patrons without bags will be admitted through these doors in an expedited fashion.
Certain items will not be allowed at the concert:
- Professional cameras with detatchable lenses.
- Professional or non-mobile phone video recorders.
- Professional recording devices.
- Go-Pros, tablets and selfie sticks.
- Weapons, bottles and containers of any type.
- Items that can be used as a projectile.
- Laser pointers.
Bags are limited to no larger than 12 inches by 8 inches.
The event will have heavy use of strobes. By entering Rimrock Auto Arena, patrons are agreeing to be photographed or video taped.
Crowd surfing and moshing are not advised.
If you have a ticket for the floor, your ticket will be exchanged for a wristband at the stairs leading to the floor. You will not be able to keep your ticket as a keepsake. All tickets must be surrendered for floor access.
Parking will be very tight for the concert. MetraPark urges people to purchase premium parking in advance to reduce possible parking challenges.
MetraPark's Pavilion Parking lot will be available as a pay only lot for the concert. This will assure fans of a nearby place to park. Price is $10 at the MetraPark box office — higher online and by phone. The VIP lot across the street from Rimrock Auto Arena is also included as a Premium Parking location. The upper parking lot and carnival lots at MetraPark will be no-charge locations.
There will be temporary closures of roadways in and around MetraPark as the Foo Fighters play at Rimrock Auto Arena.
"We will temporarily close the ramp from Main Street onto eastbound Bench Boulevard for a short time after the concert. Also, westbound Bench Boulevard will be closed at Airport Road when the shows end," said Dutcher. "Public transit, like taxis or Uber, will be delayed as the concert releases to allow the parking lots to clear."
There is one more change to the normal plan at MetraPark.
"Gate 2, which exits onto Highway 87 south of the facility, will be open to exit people from the carnival lot," said Dutcher. "Right-turn-only rules will be in effect for this exit."
