Agnes Marie Hunter, of Billings, passed on to be with her Lord, Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, at the age of 99 of natural causes.
Agnes was born Feb. 2, 1909, in Howard, Mont., and lived most of her life in the Forsyth area, where she homesteaded with late husband John Hunter of Scotland.
Agnes worked at the Forsyth State Bank for many years before retiring to Billings. She later moved to Townsend, Montana and finally back to Billings. Born of Norwegian immigrants into a large family of nine children, she spent many years a ranch wife and homemaker on the prairie of Montana.
Agnes was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and, in her later years, a great-great-grandmother. Agnes was blessed with strong health throughout her life and was only hospitalized on a few occasions for broken limbs due to exercise. Her favorite pastime was fishing.
She is survived by her sister, Clara Bonneau of Helena; and her children, Marjorie (and husband Dr. Robert) Dahl of Billings, Dolina Borer and John (and wife Jean) Hunter Jr., of California.
She spent the last year of her life at Valley Health Care in Billings. Our family is appreciative of the love and care given by the staff there.
Cremation is planned and memorial services will be held at Smith's West Chapel, 304 34th St. West in Billings, on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m.
