1954 - 2008
On Oct. 22, 2008, Albert Victor Martinez said his goodbyes and went to be with the Lord and free of pain.
In 1972, he joined the Marines in San Diego and was discharged May 15, 1974, as a PFC. Albert enjoyed camping, cooking, playing pool, hanging out with friends and family, going to the Utah Jazz games, but most of all, spending time with his daughter and new son-in-law and his pride and joy, the grandkids, Dante and Whitne. At the time of his passing, he resided in Ogden, Utah, with his mother and many family members and special friend, Carol and her two daughters and his little sidekick, Deysten.
Dad: You're free of pain. You'll always be with me and the kids. Dad, I love you so much and I'll always be Daddy's Little Girl.
Papa - we miss you so much, but we look in the sky and there you are, watching over us. We love you, Papa. Dante and Whitne.
Survivors include mother Eloise Costillas of Utah; father Benito Martinez Sr. of California; daughter Cynthia and Steve Espinosa; son Joseph Martinez; two grandchildren, Dante Lopez and Whitne Burns; and many other family members.
Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Graveside will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
