LAUREL — Alden (Al) Gonzalez, of Laurel, Mont., passed away at the age of 70 at his home after a long illness. He was born in Puerto Rico, the son of Olga Capriles and Ignacio Gonzalez, on Feb. 21, 1943. He grew up in New York City, traveled the world, and settled in Montana after purchasing property in the Bull Mountains. On Nov. 12, 1988, he married the love of his life, Nina Krause, of Lavina, Mont. Then on Jan. 2, 1990, they were blessed with their beautiful daughter, Heather Michelle.
Al so loved the wide-open spaces of Montana, the amazing wild animals, and the friendliness of the people. Prior to retiring, he operated Priced To Go, a secondhand store in Billings. He also loved auctions and garage sales and searching for those hidden treasures. He also liked traveling with mother-in-law Jean Krause, to the senior citizen dinners at Lavina, where he made a lot of new friends.
