Betty Curry Bowman quietly passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013.

Betty was born April 7, 1936, in Texas. In her youth, she enjoyed ballet dancing and in her later years, took great pleasure in taking her granddaughters to see “The Nutcracker.” Betty married Larry Mobely and from this union her daughter Dana and son Gordon were born. Betty and Larry later divorced.

In addition to bowling (which took her across country to many tournaments, and which she was still actively participating in until her death), she loved cats and Winnie the Pooh. Her willingness to help anyone in need brought many people into her life. These “children of the heart” will carry treasured memories of Betty’s generosity.

Betty was preceded in death by her children Dana and Gordon, her husband Jerry, and her beloved pet Shadow. She is survived by dear friend Randi Lowe; stepsons Dave (Rose), Mike (Cyndi) and Thomas Bowman; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Saturday April 6 at 1 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens followed by a time of celebration for family and friends at Sunset Bowling Lanes.
