BOULDER, Colo. - C. Olive Hunnes passed away in Boulder, Colo., Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at the age of 92. She was born the second of four children of Elihu and Pearl Mae Price Dickson on Jan. 24, 1916, at the family ranch home near Laurel, Mont. Following high school graduation and classes at Johnston School of Business in Billings, Olive worked for Meadow Gold Dairies, the Billings Clinic, and then Carter Oil Company (later to become Exxon). It was there that she met John Schemer Hunnes and became his bride on Sept. 15, 1945. John's job took the family from Billings to Tulsa, Okla. and then Houston, Texas. After several years of retirement they moved to Boulder to be near their son. Olive and John enjoyed 54 years of marriage before he died in 1999. Olive was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother Hugh Franklin Dickson, and her sister Alice M. Hatcher. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Marie Dawson of Billings; her son, Bob Hunnes and wife Eileen of Boulder; her daughter Ruby Dehls and husband David of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren Eric Hunnes, Joy Dehls, and Malinda Haney and husband Brandon; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a contribution to the American Cancer Society.
