THERMOPOLIS, Wyo. — Charles Donald McClure, 74, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at Hot Springs Hospital in Thermopolis.
Cremation has taken place. Private family services will be at a later time.
Born Dec. 31, 1935, in Billings, he was youngest of 13 children born to Thomas and Lola McClure. As his parents died when he was very young, he was raised by his brother, Jack and wife, Jean. In his younger years, he was involved in boxing and received several trophies and Golden Glove awards.
On June 10, 1956, he married Nola Armstrong in Las Vegas. The couple resided in Montana and Wyoming, where Don made his career as a welder. Don loved telling jokes, dancing and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family. Don has been a member of AA for the past 26 years. His family was very proud of his accomplishments.
Don resided at the Wyoming Retirement Center in Basin for two years.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Nola of Douglas; Clancy (Tina) of Gillette; Randy (Sherril) of Douglas and daughter, Brenda (Kevin) Bennett of Casper; brother, Tom McClure of Worland, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ernie, Jack, Oscar and Bernie; and five sisters, Letha, Lola, Lucy, Betty and Bessie.
