LAUREL — Clarence Foos, only surviving child of Henry and Rosie Kautz Foos, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Laurel, Mont.

He was born June 5, 1928, at the family home on Grand Avenue in Billings and lived his entire life of 84 years in Laurel, Mont. He was baptized and confirmed Lutheran in the German Congregational Church in Laurel.

In 1952, Clarence met and married Naomi Hafner; to this union, five children were born. Clarence began his career doing sheet metal work for Ryniker Sheet Metal in Billings. In 1958, he started his own business – Cindan Heating and Cooling, naming the company after his two oldest children, Cindy and Dan.

During this time, he also raised alfalfa and various livestock before settling on Black Angus cattle. He was a lifelong member of the American Angus Association. He served 18 years on the Laurel City County Planning Board. He was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Laurel. He also was on the entertainment committee of the Laurel Herbsfest for many years and thoroughly enjoyed being an active participant in those festivities.

In his later years, he developed Northhill Estates; the 160 acres were formerly used for alfalfa and his prized Black Angus cattle.

Clarence was preceded in death by his mother and father; infant daughter; two infant sisters; four brothers; and one sister.

He is survived by his wife Naomi; his children: Cindy (Lanny) Michael, Dan (Rochelle) Foos, Connie Kvilhaug, and Catherine Foos; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two sisters: Mary Feuerbacher and Lydia Kramer.

We would like to thank the staff of Laurel Tendernest for loving and caring for Clarence these past few years. Also, thank you to Pastor Pullmann for his many visits and comforting words in our times of need.
