SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Connie Sue Hutchings passed away Nov. 14, 2010, at Northeast Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, with her children by her side.
She was born Oct. 12, 1941, in Scottsbluff, Neb., to Griff and Thelma Davies. She graduated from Billings Senior High in 1960 and attended both Nebraska Wesleyan University and Rocky Mountain College. Connie served her country honorably in the Navy from 1963 to 1967. She worked for the Billings Post Office and retired in 2006.
Connie supported her children in all of their endeavors. She was a founding member of The Montana Dancing Superstars and the Showcase of Stars talent competition. Connie loved her family and has traveled the world to go on adventures with them. From eating lobster in Maine, Tea House of the August Moon dancing in Okinawa, Japan, the Alamo in Texas, Graceland and Elvis' birthplace, the General Sherman Sequoia and Monterey Bay in California to Pikes Place Market and ferry rides throughout Puget Sound in Washington, Connie always made friends wherever her travels took her. "Regular Grandma" enjoyed spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren and her puppy CeCe. She loved dogs and rescued many throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by both people and puppies alike.
Connie is survived by her daughter, Kim (Robb) Kinsfather of Sammamish, Wash.; and her son, Bob (Julie) Hutchings of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren, Kenny, Matt, Nick, Zack and Katie Kinsfather and Grace Hutchings; brothers Griff Davies of Polson and Bill (Nancy) Davies of Billings; her "sister," Sandy Davies of Missoula; nieces Tracie (Kurt) Preston of Colorado, Sasha (Orest) Pilskalns of Missoula, Mont., and Erica (Tim) Probst of Wisconsin; nephews Bill (Collette) Davies of Billings, Griff Davies of Polson, Mont., and Jonathan Stukel of Missoula; numerous grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.
