GREAT FALLS - Daisy (Alexander) Basinger, 77, of Great Falls, a homemaker, died of natural causes Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, at a local nursing home.
Private family services will be held in Roundup. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Daisy was born Jan. 11, 1932, in Colbert, Okla., and was raised there as well.
She moved from Oklahoma to Custer, where she met Clyde Ardel Ewen, and married him in 1952. The couple had four children, two of whom survive her. They lived in Worden and Billings. They moved to Fort Shaw in 1974, and Clyde died in 1976. Daisy met Sylvan "Toby" Basinger in 1985 and married him on Jan. 21, 1986.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, and visiting relatives up until Toby passed away Aug. 25, 2007, in Roundup.
Survivors include a son, Robert Mark (Cheryl) Ewen of Great Falls; a daughter, Pamela A. (Dean) Thorson of Palmer, Alaska; siblings Edna (Ray) Sanner of Billings, Ann Carlson of Tucson, Ariz., Wayne (Nell) Alexander of Jay, Okla., Duane (Chris) Alexander of Ventura, Calif., Davic (Anna May) Alexander of Jay, Dale Alexander of Florida, Mary Lou Alexander of Disney, Okla., and Don (Mary) Alexander of Salem, Ore.; and five grandchildren, Nicole, Glen, Kelly, Mari and Andrew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Toby Basinger; and brothers Glen Alexander and Shorty Alexander.
