FT. MOHAVE, Ariz. — Dale Arthur Morin passed away peacefully in his sleep Aug. 29, 2012. He had been bravely fighting the debilitating effects of ALS. He was born Mar. 1, 1933, in Poplar to Arthur and Beatrice (Harrison) Morin. He was raised, along with his 10 brothers and sisters, in Sanish, N.D. He was an enrolled member of the Three Affiliated Tribes of Arikara and Chippewa decent. He was united in marriage in New Town, N.D., in 1954 to Joy Ann Hauge, the love of his life. Dale and Joy spent the first years of marriage in Wolf Point.
Their 58-year journey together produced three children: Debbie, Dave and Angelique. In the late ‘50s Dale took Joy, Debbie and Dave on Relocation to Southern California. Dale and Joy were blessed with the birth of Angelique in California in 1962. After arriving in California, Dale worked in various jobs before starting a 40-year career in the aerospace industry. He finished his career as an accounting supervisor for Boeing. The highlight of his working life was being a part of the Space Shuttle program.
In retirement, Dale, Joy and son traveled by RV every year between California and North Dakota until moving to Wolf Point in 2005. They continued their yearly travels back to California and Arizona, and frequent trips to New Town, N.D. Dale's passing occurred while traveling between Montana and Arizona, where Dale and family were planning to better fight his worsening disease.
Dale was a man of simple pleasures; his joy was spending time with his wife, children, grandkids, and his large extended family and friends. In the 1980s and ‘90s, Dale enjoyed riding and tending to his horses. Dale was very athletic in his younger days, and later became a big Lakers and Dodgers fan. He would spend many evenings rooting for his teams with his wife and son. He was a devout Catholic and sang in the choir for many years while living in California. Dale had a beautiful singing voice and was known to break into a country song frequently, especially while driving down the road. No family gathering would be complete if Dale didn't grace the family with a few beautiful country songs.
Dale was a kind, gentle and spiritual man who loved his whole family and friends deeply. His faith was equally deep and unwavering throughout his life. Dale was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Beatrice (Harrison) Morin; brothers Bernard, Duane (Bobby), Arthur Jr., and John; sisters Geraldine (Larson) and Eldora (Weil); daughter Debbie; and many nieces and nephews.
Dale is survived by his wife, Joy Ann (Hauge) of Ft. Mohave; son David of Ft. Mohave; daughter Angelique of Gonzales, Calif.; two grandkids, Tyler and Quinn, both of Santa Cruz, Calif.; brother Raymond of San Jose, Calif.; sisters Delores (Miller) of Ft.
