Dale Leroy Brester was born in Laurel on Sept. 11, 1940, to Lydia (Frickel) and George Brester. He died Nov. 22, 2008, of complications of diabetes at St. Vincent Hospital.
Dale spent his early years farming. He married Lee Bennett on June 29, 1963. They were later divorced but remained close friends. Two sons were born to them, Joel Mikel and Daren Dale. The family moved to Billings in 1977, where Dale worked at Pierce Packing. After Pierce closed, he went to work for School District 2, retiring in 2002.
Dale is survived by his two sons; a brother, Donald (Norma) of Laurel; a sister, Margie (Wilbur) Wagner of Billings; his former wife, Lee; a brother-in-law, Ralph Kammerzel; a sister-in-law, Laura Brester Frank; 15 nieces and nephews, including a very special niece, Cindy Wagner of Laurel. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Calvin; and sister Dorothy.
We would like to thank the great staff at St. Vincent Hospital and Harvest Church for everything they've done.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, at the Harvest Church, 1235 Wicks Lane West. Smith Downtown Chapel has assisted with arrangements.
