ROSCOE — Donald C. Ostrum, 78, of Roscoe, passed away at his home Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012.
He was a son of Carl and Goldie Mae Ostrum. Don was born and raised in Roscoe, attended schools in Roscoe and graduated from Absarokee High School in 1951. He enlisted in the army and then returned to marry his high school sweetheart, Jeanette Michael, June 10, 1956, and to this union were born three children: Marcia, Monty and Dawn.
Don is survived by his wife, Jeanette; children, Marcia Pearson, Monty Ostrum and Robin and Dawn Fawcett; six grandchildren, Lindsay Beyl, Ryan and Nathan Fawcett, Jeffrey and Skyler Pearson and Chris Ostrum; three great-grandchildren, Logan, Brooklyn and Avery; two sisters, Joyce (Buzz) Stimpson and Karleen (Vaughn) Hague; and numerous cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ray.
Don kept a daily diary from the time he was married to the day he passed away. He enjoyed cutting wood with his chainsaw and did metal art welding and sold several pieces. He loved doing things with his children and grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church's organ fund and the Beartooth Nature Center in Red Lodge, MT.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Absarokee. Inurnment will be in Rosebud Cemetery with military honors.
