Donald 'Red' Dean Muth
Donald "Red" Dean Muth, 66, of Billings, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 12, 2009, with his wife by his side. He passed away after a long and courageous five-year battle with cancer. Donald was born Dec. 27, 1942, in Hettinger, N.D., to Michael and Edith Muth. He met his wife, Mary Jane Wessel, in Cody, Wyo., in 1967. They made their home in Billings and had one daughter, Jodie Muth Thomas.
Donald worked for Toyota Land, Cranky Ranky, and Browns'. He opened Muth Automotive Car Repair in 1988. Donald loved fixing cars. He also cherished his grandson, Dakota Flom. No matter how ill Donald was from chemo treatments, he never missed Dakota's baseball games.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Mary Jane, his daughter Jodie Thomas (Greg), one grandson Dakota Flom, mother Edith Grizzle, and sister Betty Heidt, all of Billings, and a brother, Loyd Muth (Darlene) of Madras, Ore. Donald will be remembered for his love of polkas, being a mechanic, playing cards and breakfast with his buddies.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Cremation & Funeral Gallery. The memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 517 Grand Ave. Online condolences may be sent to www.cfgbillings.com.
