Donnette Lynn Gibbs of Billings went to host tea parties in Heaven on May 5, 2013.
She was born to Vernon and Ruth Angen in Casper, Wyo., on Dec. 21, 1947. Doni graduated from Powell High school in 1965, she was proud to be a Powell Panther. After graduation, Doni married Larry Cloninger and their daughter, Echo, was born. In the early ‘70s, Doni moved back to Billings and started her 25-year career in TV as a copywriter. During this time she won many awards including Copywriter of the Year. After her retirement in 1988, she wore many different hats, including restaurant owner, bridal sales, greeting card display, writer and, most important to her, Grandma.
Survivors include her five grandkids: Kadee, Taelar, Brook, Torie and Jesse Jamieson; the parents of her grandkids Echo and Troy Jamieson; sister Cheryl Morris; sister-in-law Nancy Davison (Tom); niece Heidi McIntosh (Mike); nephews Kacey Gibbs, Colter and Chance Davison. She also leaves behind many friends who will miss her spirit and infectious giggle.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, May 15, at 2:30 p.m. at Spring Creek Park (15th and Lewis).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Forever Families, 1411 Fourth Ave. N., Billings, MT 59101. Donations will be used for an Adoptive Mom’s retreat.
