Dorothy "Dot" Ashmore, 85, passed quietly away at Eagle Cliff Manor, her home for the last three-and-a-half years.
Dorothy was born in Detroit to Joseph and Maude (Williams) Kissick on April 8, 1918. She was the second oldest of eight children. After marrying her husband, James H. Ashmore, she moved to Sheridan, Wyo. In 1978, Dot and Jim moved to Lovell, Wyo. She and Jim loved to hunt and fish, and Dot stayed a loyal fan of the Detroit Lions. After a stroke in 1994, she moved to Billings to be near her daughter, Elizabeth.
Dot is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Ken) Kaufman of Roberts; four grandchildren, Michelle (Cory) Beatty of Missoula, Rebecca and her fiancÈ, Reg ParÈ, of Longmont, Colo., Paul of Seattle and Clint of Roberts; one great-grandson, Brian Beatty; as well as three sisters and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, three brothers and her husband.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at Dahl Funeral Chapel in Red Lodge. Vigil services for Dot will be 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, at Dahl Funeral Chapel in Red Lodge. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Dot will be buried in the Cowen Creek Cemetery in Wilmington, Ohio, on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
