LAUREL - Earl Lester Eastlick, 84, of Laurel, passed away April 6, 2002, at his home. He was born July 29, 1917, in Big Stone City, S.D., to Lester and Lena (Garrels) Eastlick. He attended grade school at Ware, Iowa, before moving with his parents to Park City, where he graduated from Park City High School. Earl joined the Army Air Corps in Oct., 1941, and served in England. He was honorably discharged in Sept., 1945.
He married Margie Fox and had one daughter, Barbara Jo. Margie passed away in 1965. Later, Earl married Shirley Moran and they lived in Park City, Laurel, Billings and Columbus before moving back to Laurel in 2001.
Earl worked for B.N. Railroad, retiring in 1978 after 30 years service. He belonged to the American Legion, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and had been a Volunteer Fireman in Park City. He liked gardening and yard work and was a good handyman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Margie and his brother, Lloyd. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Barbara Jo (Richard) Snow of Nampa, Idaho, Sandy (Bruce) Markegard of Laurel, Sue (Stan) Frank of Bridger, Ray (Kathy) Moran of Havre; a brother, Melvin (Marguerite) Eastlick of Yuma, Ariz.; sister, Hazel (Sally) Williams of Billings; grandchildren, Connie (Bryan) Rognlie, Doug Snow, Kathy Markegard, Kurt (Darlene) Markegard, Kyle Markegard, Cindy Frank, Wendy (Jimi) Romero, Lena (Shawn) Kallevig, Jerry (Melissa) Moran, B.J. (Kari) Moran, Michael Moran, 9 great grandchildren and many friends and cousins.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 8, at Smith Funeral Chapel-Laurel. Memori-als may be given to the charity of one's choice.
