Mother, 87, went to her heavenly home, Nov. 18, 2008.
She was born the fourth in a family of nine children in her aunt's rural home between Grass Range and Lewistown, May 9, 1921.
On Aug. 12, 1940, the farmer's daughter married her first love, the traveling salesman A. L. "Tony" Hruska. Together for 68 years, they raised six children, Roberta Love (Steve), Billings, James Hruska (Paulette), Virginia Beach, Va., Jerry Hruska (Vivian), Bellingham, Wash., Stephen Hruska (died in infancy), Sandra Hruska (Greg Eichman), Santa Fe, N.M., Jack Hruska, New York, N.Y.
Eileen is survived by husband Tony of the Billings family home; five of her children; sisters Maxine Crees (Joe), Sapphire Village, Sandy Bodeker (Dale) Lewistown; brothers Bill Lewellen (Melody), Midland, Texas, and Ron Lewellen, Billings. Tony and Eileen furthered their lineage with 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was preceded in death by her parents Zenas and Beulah Lewellen and Frances Lewellen; brothers Charles and Harold; and sisters Roberta and Marabelle.
Mother loved taking care of her family and took pride in updating the look of her home. She enjoyed painting and especially the times she could capture the landscape on location. One of her favorite places was Woodbine, and the family spent many summer holidays camping and fishing in those mountains above Absarokee. When it came to fun and games, Mom was always the first to be at the game table with her family. We will miss her smile and warm humor, but we are thankful, after her extended illness, that she is now in a better place.
An informal memorial service will be held Friday, Nov. 21, at 3 p.m., at the Smith West Funeral Chapel, 304 34th St. West. Those wishing to make contributions or memorials can send their gift to RiverStone Hospice of Billings or a charity of their choice.
