HUDSON, Wyo. — Eric C. Likes, 42, of Hudson, passed away on Nov. 17, 2011, at his residence.
Eric was a true friend to many people and enjoyed telling stories of his life's adventures to anyone who would listen. He loved the outdoors, fishing was his passion, 4-wheeling with friends holding close to second place. Any drive along a country road usually ended at a lake or fishing hole for "just one more cast." Eric also spent many days camping, getting up early to hit the water as the mist was rising off the lake at 11 Mile reservoir. He had the most beautiful moments there with his father and family.
The Likes family trade is masonry. Three generations of masons set their mark from coast to coast. In every city there is a visible legacy, here in Sheridan is the Junior High School and Well's Fargo Bank, among others. Eric was blessed with creative and artistic talents in masonry — a true master of stone.
Eric was born in Denver, Colo. He attended Faith Lutheran parochial school, then started his life's work as a mason at 15, working for his Dad.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Linda (Hill) Likes. He is survived by two daughters, Kyla (Randall) Laslie, Carine (David) Fleming; and grandchildren, Kinzlee Laslie and Madison Dvorak. Andrea "Andy" Hairston was Eric's significant other in life for 16 years. He's survived by sister, Kendra Kinsella; younger brother, Brian Likes; and sister, Erin (Eric) Blair. He is also survived by Aunt Jill, Uncle Richard Bunt, cousin Crystal Kennedy and many nieces and nephews.
May his laughter carry us through lonely times. Eric is with his Dad —rejoice!
A Celebration of life will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Coonis officiating, with an inurnment to follow in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
