ROUNDUP Eva (Sprankel) Ostermiller, 73, of Roundup, died at the Stillwater Community Hospital in Columbus, on Monday afternoon, March 21, 2005, surrounded by her family.
Eva was born April 27, 1931, at the family home in Worden, the daughter of Fred and Mary (Hoppe) Sprankel. She attended school in Billings. At the age of 17, Eva was united in marriage to Melvin T. Petty. Eva and Melvin raised four children. Later in life, Eva married Fred Ostermiller. Fred died in 2002.
Eva enjoyed dancing, playing cards, water skiing, attending her son's sporting events and spending time with her grandchildren.
Those left behind include her daughter, Terry (Dennis) Vidic of Roundup; sons Butch (Amy) Petty, Stan "Snick" (Nita) Petty; daughter Jamie (Kim) Ehnes; sister Molly Lynch, all of Billings; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Fred and Alec Sprankel; infant sister Anna Sprankel; infant brothers Henry and Victor Sprankel; sisters Annie Felde and Mary Radcliff.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 24, at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Eva will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Gardens. There will be a reception at Dahl Funeral Chapel following the interment.
