LAUREL — Florine Brano entered the gates of heaven the morning of Sept. 2, 2012, following complications from a fall and dementia.
Nellie Florine was born July 18, 1916, to Matthias Elmer and Perla Moler on the family homestead in the South Valley Creek area in Stillwater County, Mont. On Oct. 15, 1933, she married Mike Brano and they lived in and around the Laurel area for 62 years.
Florine enjoyed sewing and was an excellent seamstress. She also liked to knit, making Mike beautiful sweaters, gloves and scarves. In her later years she made knitted dish clothes which she shared with everyone that came to visit. She loved children and her face would light up at the sight of a baby. The Larry and Barb Petersen family held a special place in her heart. Florine and Mike were founders of Grace Bible Church and charter members.
She is survived by nieces Laurie (Jerry) Fritzler, of Yuma, Ariz., and Shirley (Harry) Ruff of Billings; and nephews Larry (Arlene) Adams of San Jose, Calif., and Weldon Currey of Huntley; and was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, three brothers-in-law, one brother and one sister-in-law.
Pastor Gary Bobo and her favorite cousin, Perry Moler, were very faithful in visiting her.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Smith Funeral Chapel-Laurel, with interment in the Laurel Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Montana Rescue Mission or Grace Bible Church.
