LAUREL - It is with great sadness that Arlene passed away Jan. 2, 2009. She is now in the comfort of the Lord. Arlene was born April 7, 1937 in Mandan N.D. to Frank and Rachel Johnson. Having settled in Laurel, Arlene attended Laurel Schools and graduated in 1955. As a sweetheart candidate in high school, she sat in the back of a convertible car driven by Bud and that is where she met Dad and they married in 1957. To this union three children were born. In earlier years Arlene was active in church functions of all kinds, from teaching pre-school, to volunteer programs, all associated with the church. She loved singing and "Oh" what a beautiful voice! She also served on the Board of Directors for St. Johns Lutheran Home. She dedicated her life to God, her husband and her children. She enjoyed many hobbies; she had quite the artistic talent. Dad being the honorable and dedicated husband cared for her for 16 years, before entering St. Johns Lutheran Home in March 2007. We would like to thank the entire staff at St. John's, ESPECIALL Y the "Angels" on Heritage Place for their kind, compassionate, loving care provided to Mom. It was a great comfort to know that all her needs were met. They truly went above and beyond. Bless you all. Mom is survived by her husband of 51 years Bud Fritzler, daughters Connie (Craig) Jones, Becky Fritzler, son, Dean Fritzler, grand children, Sarah (Jared) Dillon, Matt Jones, Rachel Jones, two great grand children, Sylas and Isabelle Dillon, one grand dog, "Bailey" and sister, Helen (Jim) Leffler.
Preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Rachel Johnson and brother, Norman.
