Fred R. Ross, 90, died Wednesday, May 8, 2019. He was born Feb. 21, 1929, the son of Alastair and Thelma Ross. He grew up on the Duck Creek family farm and attended local schools. He attended Montana State College, studied mechanical engineering, was involved with R.O.T.C., and received an associate degree in mechanical engineering. Fred worked 43 years for M.D.U., retiring as meter shop foreman and was the MDU Credit Union President.
Fred married Geneva Logan on Nov. 24, 1948. They raised four children, Mike (Diane), Sallie, Gordon and Donald, and are also survived by three grandchildren, Dr. Catherine (Steve), Elizabeth (Alex) and Hannah (Brian) and two great-grandchildren, Elisa and Oscar.

The family will be present for visitations Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the Smith West Chapel, 304 34th Street West. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 20 at the Smith West Chapel with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
