George E. "Bud" Hohmann, 81, of Billings, passed away May 15, 2003, at the Veterans Home in Glendive, where he has been a patient the past six years.
George was born May 13, 1922, in Glendive, the son of George and Rose (McDonnell) Hohmann. He was raised in Glendive and graduated from high school there. He also attended Dawson Community College for two years. He joined the U.S. Army in 1942 and served until 1946.
Following the military, he worked for the Extension Service for a short time and then began a 37 year employment with Tractor and Equipment Co., where he worked in Sidney, Glasgow and Billings, retiring in 1985.
He was a very devoted and avid Ham Radio operator with the call letters of W7RSK. He was a former member of the VFW and American Legion Club.
He married Marjorie Holzwarth in Glendive in 1946.
Survivors include his wife Marjorie of Billings; granddaughter, Amanda Stuart Weaver and great-grandson, Darian Daniel Weaver, both of Billings; his sister, Marguerite Knauff of Soquel, Calif.; nephew Bill Knauff of San Jose, Calif.; and niece Kitty Saber of Redding, Calif.
His family wishes to thank all the nurses and staff at the Veterans Home in Glendive for the clean, caring and special care they gave Bud.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Vicki Jo in 1993.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 19, at Smith West Chapel, 304 34th St. West. Cremation has taken place. Memorials to the Alzheimer's association or the charity of your choice.
