VANCOUVER, Wash. - We have lost our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He passed away peacefully to be with the Lord at his home with his loving wife Violet, of 50 years, by his side on Nov. 14, 2008.
Heinz Walter Tanke, 79, was born on May 3, 1929, in Germany, to parents Helene and Richard Tanke. In 1954, the family sailed on the ship Olympia and immigrated to the United States of America, were they later moved to Billings. This is were he worked and retired as a heavy equipment diesel mechanic. He met and married Violet Wolff on Dec. 6, 1957, and had two children, Janice and Roy. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Dec. 6, 2007. Heinz and Violet earlier this year moved to Vancouver to live with their son, daughter-in-law and family dog (Rychu Walter).
Heinz was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law Henry Schalk; and grandson Jeremy Paulsen (Amanda Clark). He is survived by his wife, Violet; and their children Janice (Vaughn) and Roy (Shelby); grandchildren Eric Paulsen (Amanda Preston); great-grandchild (Elizabeth M. Paulsen); sisters Christa Schalk and Elli Neurath (George).
Cremation will be taking place with no services at this time, with interment in Vancouver at a future date. Please donate to the charity of your choice in memory of Heinz Walter Tanke.
