Our loving Mom and Granny passed away peacefully on March, 8 2018.

Helen was born Nov. 5 1926 in Lewistown, to Forbes (Scotty) and Annie Leslie. She lived in the Grass Range - Lewistown area until 1928 when her parents moved to the Leslie Ranch near Winnett. In 1943 she moved to Billings with her parents. Helen graduated from Billings Senior High in 1944. Helen married Robert L. Bryson August 15, 1948. New branches began to sprout on the Bryson family tree with the birth of daughter Leslie and son Robert (Rob).

Helen retired from Hall Perry Machinery in 1988, after 30 years. Retirement was not a word in her vocabulary. Sitting was not an option for her. She was born to be a volunteer. She delivered meals on wheels to answering questions for visitors at the Billings Chamber of Commerce. You would see her helping and teaching young bowlers at the bowling alley to helping with the senior olympics and participating at the same time. The highlight of her volunteering was at Pompey’s Pillar. She loved the history, and knew it well. Helen received awards for the most volunteer hours with RSVP. When the grandkids and great grandkids were old enough to play sports, she was their biggest cheerleader. They were her “greatest joy”. She drove to many towns to watch everything from swim meets to t-ball, volleyball to softball. Dance to gymnastics , she loved it all. If one of her grand kids did not have an activity going on, she always had a friend who had a grandchild she would go watch and cheer them on. Helen was a league bowler for 42 years and a member of the Montana women's bowling association Hall of Fame. She was a member of Hope United Methodist Church.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, daughter Leslie and a sister Mary. Brothers and sisters in law Stan and Dorothy Waddell and Donna Jean and Al Peterson.

Helen is survived by her son Rob (Deb) Hardin, Grandchildren Cori Lackman Billings, Carrie (Adam) Flores Billings ,Erica (Justin) Watson Lodge Grass and Kelly (Tanner) Watson, Lodge Grass. Great Grandchildren Mattea and Esai Flores. Addison, Kadin and Macie Watson. Cousin Zelma Degner from Grass Range and several cousins in Scotland. Also numerous nieces and nephews and her dear friend Mary Kay Hart.

Thank you to all the caregivers at The Springs (Foot Steps) and Compassus for treating our loved one with dignity and respect.

Graveside services for family and friends will be March 16, 2018, at 11 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please consider Pompey’s Pillar or a charity of your choice.
