LEWISTOWN — James “Jim” Strouf passed away surrounded by his family Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at Central Montana Medical Center due to natural causes.
Jim was born in Great Falls on Oct. 6, 1932, to Edward and Alice Jelinek Strouf. He graduated from Stanford High School and continued his education at Montana State College in Bozeman where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Jim honorably served in the U.S. Army, 5th Infantry Regiment, Aviation Section. On Nov. 27, 1954, he married Alice Gossack in Great Falls. They had three children together: Sabrina, Lanette and Bradley. Jim was a farmer and rancher in the Coffee Creek area.
Jim is survived by his wife, Alice Strouf, of Lewistown; children, Sabrina (Monte) Grove and Lanette (Paul) Scott; grandchildren, Kevin Grove and Kristen (Jake) Bramante; and sister, Joyce Clark.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Bradley; and sister, Bernice Vralsted.
Memorial donations can be made to the Central Montana Medical Center ER Fund or a charity of the donor’s choice.
Graveside Services with military honors presented by the Fergus American Legion, Post #16 will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Saturday, Sept. 15, at 1 p.m.
