BOISE, Idaho — John Hamilton passed away on Jan. 17, 2012, of natural causes. He was 99 years old. He was born in Red Cloud, Neb., on Jan. 15, 1913. He was fourth of five children born to Martha and Wilber Hamilton. He remained in Red Cloud through his high school years and graduated in 1931. After graduation, John moved to Spokane, Wash., where he graduated from a business college and met his wife of 73 years Helen Ruth (Joy) Enlow. John and Joy remained in Spokane until John was hired by the International Harvester Company. He moved several times with this company settling in Billings until his retirement working for International Harvester for 38 years.
After retirement, John and Joy moved to Boise, Idaho, to be near their daughter and family. He spent his retirement years doing some traveling, golfing and volunteering to support others in need. John was an active member of the Optimist Club for many years.
John is survived by his wife Joy; his sister Mary Hourton; two sons Phil (Sue) Hamilton of Big Bear, Calif., Jim (Karen) Hamilton of Houston, Texas; and one daughter Jean (Bruce) Christensen of Boise, Idaho; six grand children and six great grand children.
John‘s father; mother; two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
He will be missed by his family and many friends he made at Willow Park Assisted Living. There will be a memorial for John on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Willow Park Assisted Living 2600 Milwaukee Rd. at 2:15 p.m.
