Julie Ann Merchen, 52, died Jan. 27, 2019 at her home in Boulder City, Nevada, with family members present. Born Dec. 14, 1966, in Billings to George and Marilynn (Wichman) Merchen. She graduated Billings Central in 1985, attended University of Montana, Missoula. In 1995 she moved to Nevada and was employed with Bureau of Reclamation at Lake Meade in water control division, later was events coordinator at Hoover Dam until her health would not allow it.
She is survived by son Jesse George Esquivel; partner Mike Esquivel; parents George and Marilynn Merchen; sister Carol Heath; nieces and children: Trista - Matthew, Christopher; Tanaya – Isis, Hermie, Avery; Melanee – DeVera; nephew Douglas.

Julie loved and lived life, spending time with family and friends was important. She played basketball- BCHS Lady’s State Champion. ASA softball played regionals. She, Jesse, Mike and family enjoyed many summers camping, fishing in Utah and going to large family gatherings.
Funeral service Friday Feb. 8, 10 a.m, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2055 Woody Dr. Billings- Burial to follow at Terrace Garden Cemetery. 304 – 34th St West.
