Katharine Lane, 90, of Billings, passed away May 17, 2003, at Deaconess Billings Clinic. She was born in Indianapolis, on Oct. 20, 1912, the daughter of Louis G. and Augusta S. Prange.
Katharine moved to Washington, D.C., in 1938, attended George Washington University and was employed by the federal government's National Mediation Board until her retirement in 1972. She moved with her husband Warren S. Lane to Lakeland, Fla. After Warren passed away, she moved to Billings to be closer to her family.
She was a member of Professional Secretaries International, Polk Museum of Art, Ikebana International, Imperial Symphony Guild, Garden Club of Lakeland, LRMC Auxiliary, United Women's Club and St. David's Episcopal Church.
She was a wonderful, loving and very generous person and will be missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her sister, Jeanne P. Gates of Roundup; stepson Warren V. Lane of Melbourne, Fla.; four step-grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Fred and Louis Prange; and one sister, Meta Louise Watson.
