Kevin Grider, 65, passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, at Riverstone Hospice House in Billings. He was born Nov. 24, 1953, in Park Falls, Wisconsin, the sixth son of Fred and Norma Grider. He lived with his family in northern Wisconsin until 1963, when the family moved to Billings. Kevin graduated from Billings Senior High in 1973. After graduation he worked lot maintenance for a number of area car dealerships, most notably Archie Cochrane Ford, where he worked for more than 15 years, until ill health led to his retirement last year.
Kevin was always willing to help friends and family. He had a life-long passion for the beauty and history of the Beartooth Highway. He would travel between Red Lodge and Cooke City as many times as he could each summer, recording most trips so he could re-live them after snow closed the road. Kevin loved cars, and enjoyed a passion for home electronics.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1986, his mother in 2010, and by his grand-nephew, Draike, earlier this year. He is survived by ten brothers: Fred (Cindy) of Tacoma, Washington; Daryl (Betsy) of Johnson City, Tennessee; Randall (Patti) of Orion Township, Michigan; Gary (Kathie) of Billings; Brian (Rita) of Delaware, Ohio; Mike, Lance, Craig and Eric of Billings; Chris (TJ) of Bakersfield, California; and his only sister Kelcey of Billings; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the dedicated staffs of Bella Terra, Riverstone Hospice, and Archie Cochrane Ford. Cremation has taken place and a memorial will be announced at a later date.
Cremation and Funeral Gallery is handling arrangements. Condolences may be left at www.cfgbillings.com.
