Kevin Lyle Oellermann, age 23, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013.
He was born on Jan. 13, 1990, in Billings. He graduated from Skyview High School in 2008. He lived and worked in Billings.
Kevin had the opportunity to work at some of the best kitchens in town. He had most recently been part of the grand opening at the fabulous Northern Hotel, where he was greatly loved by all who worked with him. He truly had a passion for food and it was apparent in all the dishes he created. They were all so carefully executed works of art. He was always thinking up new and exciting recipes to try out. Sharing his culinary passion and talents was his favorite activity; seeing a table full of people enjoying his meals was when Kevin was at his happiest.
Kevin was a compassionate and generous man who loved his family and friends dearly. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his closest friends and family. Always the prankster, Kevin’s witty sense of humor will be missed.
He is survived by his father, Dean Oellermann of Glendive, Mont.; brother Luke Oellermann of Denver, Colo.; high school sweetheart, Hanna Lewis; their daughter Harper; grandmothers La Verne Oellermann of Glendive, Hazel Harley of Helena, Mont.; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with close friends.
He was in preceded in death by his mother, Denette Oellermann.
The family would like to express appreciation for the staff at St. Vincent Hospital Intensive Care Unit who cared for Kevin.
A memorial service to honor Kevin and celebrate his life will be held Monday, May 20, at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 537 Grand Ave., Billings, MT.
