RED LODGE - At age 73, Louise Huntington, of Red Lodge, died peacefully at Cedar Wood Villa early Wednesday morning, May 28, 2003. Louise was born May 25, 1930, in Powell, Wyo., the daughter of Albert and Lottie (Moore) Burgener. She attended schools in Powell and went on to earn her nursing and accounting degrees from Eastern Montana College.
On Aug. 9, 1952, Louise was united in marriage to Burt Huntington in Lovell, Wyo. She worked in nursing positions in Laramie, Lovell and Billings; worked with Burt at the Lovell and Red Lodge newspapers; and worked as a bookkeeper for Rocky Mountain Industries for many years.
Louise was a devout Catholic and a devoted member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Red Lodge. Her loss will be felt deeply in the church and community. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting, but mostly relished her time serving in the church.
Louise leaves behind her son Ted and his wife Michelle; her grandchildren, Renee and Seth, all of Wasilla, Alaska; her sisters, Dorothy Lee (Vance) Larkin of Cody, Wyo., Bonnie (Hank) Hartley of Winter Haven, Fla., Willa Mae (Jim) Fleming of Powell; her brothers, Tom (Carolyn) Burgener of Elizabeth, Colo., Ken (Vallie) Burgener of Anchorage, Alaska.
Her husband Burt preceded her in death in 1997.
A Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Red Lodge, with a luncheon to follow. Cremation has taken place and Louise's ashes will be scattered by the family at a later date. Dahl Funeral Chapel in Red Lodge is in charge of arrangements.
