Mary was born April 11, 1955, in Billings and died Saturday, Dec. 1 in Idaho Falls.

She is the daughter of John E. Craighill and Agnes Davis Craighill. She is survived by her husband Robert L. Stevens; her son David E. Verwolf (Kendra) and three grandchildren; siblings, Pat North (David); Earl Craighill, Carrie Craighill (Brent Marchbanks), Bill Craighill (Mary), and Tom Craighill (Sandy). She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jim.

Mary attended Fratt Memorial School and graduated Billings Central Catholic High School in 1974. She graduated from Montana State University in 1978. She was inducted in Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society of North America in earlier in 1978. She worked for the State of Montana Department of Agriculture for 12 years. She moved to Idaho in 1991, to work as an Inorganic Analytical Chemist for EG&G, a contractor at the Idaho National Engineering & Environment Laboratory. In 1994, the Department of Energy persuaded her to temporarily work for them to assemble a Spectrometer, a new specialized instrument for analysis of waste. The position became permanent and she worked at the Radiological Environmental Sciences Lab until her retirement in 2015.

After retirement, Mary went into business with her husband Bob, in S & S Service, Inc, a small, efficient home remodeling and home maintenance repair company. She enjoyed horse riding at Innovative Therapeutic Riding Program in Idaho Falls, long drives in the country side and visiting with family and friends. She stayed in touch with grandchildren, with phone calls, Skype and gifts.

Mary was and is admired by her co-workers, friends, family and everyone who knew her as a most competent, organized, friendly and intelligent woman, and for her inspirational courage, strong resolve, and cheerfulness in battling MS for 24 years.
