Norman E. Clausen, 74, of Billings, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at his son's home in LaSalle, Colo. Norman was born Feb. 15, 1936, to Harry and Kathrine Clausen in Fremont, Neb.
A proud “Dane,” Norman graduated eighth grade from a one-room schoolhouse outside Ames, Neb. He went on to graduate from Fremont High School in 1953. After working for a year, he enlisted in the army and served in Germany. Upon his return, he attended Montana State College in Bozeman, where he met his bride of almost 53 years, Barbara Wagner of Hayward, Calif. He graduated in 1960 with a bachelor's degree in animal science.
Norman was in pharmaceutical sales for Upjohn most of his career, in the Montana and Colorado areas. He enjoyed hunting with his sons and friends. His daughter Tani had him wrapped around her little finger. He was a Mason and Shriner. Riding his horse with the Black Horse Patrol gave him much pleasure. He enjoyed camping and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Billings; two sons, Bret (Cheryl) Clausen of LaSalle, Colo., Todd (Vickie) Clausen of Grand Lake, Colo.; and a daughter, Tani (Greg) Van Luvanee of Sioux Falls, S.D.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Warren, Richard and Alfred; and sister Leona, all of Fremont.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1865 14th Ave., Greeley, Colo.
Memorials may be made in memory of Norman to Shriners Children's Hospital or a charity of choice in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 702 13th Street, Greeley, CO 80631.
An inurnment service will be held in Nebraska at a later date.
