Following a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease, Pauline passed away on May 27, 2013, at the age of 79 with family by her side. She was the best mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend anyone could have. She always had a hug and kiss for those she knew.
Born Aug. 16, 1933, in Lovell, Wyo., to Paul Frederick and Gussie Patton, Pauline had two brothers and her baby sister Carol Bruce, who was her constant companion and supporter through every stage of their lives.
Pauline had five children from her marriage to Leonard Davis: Linda, Jim, Janet, Paul and Patty. In 1995, Pauline adopted her daughter, Cindy Ferguson-Davis.
She enjoyed bowling and participated in many leagues with friends and her daughter Janet. She also enjoyed traveling. In her "retirement" years, she took Cindy on many trips to Florida and went on cruises with friends. Back in the day, she enjoyed having a cold one at the Scoop. She was a collector of many things, cows, chickens, happy meal toys and anything else that caught her fancy. She enjoyed taking pictures of her family to document happy occasions and leaves us a bounty of photos to treasure. She was a wonderful cook. We all have our favorite dishes she would prepare for us. To her older grandchildren, Pauline was known as Chickie Gramma, because she worked for many years at the Chicken Delight. Over the years, she also worked at the Federal Building Cafeteria, Sids in Laurel, the Laurel Truck Stop and the Rubber Stamp Shop. She found her greatest joy in being a foster grandma. She provided a loving home to many children in their time of need and gave respite care to people with special needs. She welcomed all children with open arms and loved them as her own.
In 2008, She moved to the campus of St. John's Lutheran Home — first to the Morberg Cottage and later to the nursing care unit. We are so thankful for the wonderful, loving care our mom/grandma received at their hands these past five years. Much love and thanks to all the staff who cared for our mom/grandma during her time at St. John's.
She was preceded in her passing by her parents, her brother Ray Frederick and lots of other family members who will greet her at the gates of heaven. She is survived by her loving children, Linda (Larry) Anderson, Jim (Nancy) Davis, Janet Weed, Paul (Vickie) Davis, Patty Davis and Cindy Ferguson-Davis. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; Len, Ginger, Tina, Mike, Todd, Jason, Shane, Jim, David, Jenny and Lisa; eight great-grandchildren, Samantha, Jaxson, Kolby, Austyn, Avery, Brooklyn, Jace and Magnus; her brother Kay King; sister Carol (Mike) Bruce and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Cremation has taken place at her request. Memorial services will be held at Smith Funeral Chapel on Friday, May 31, at 11 a.m., with a celebration of her life to follow at the North Park Community Center.
Mom/Gram — Thanks for all the wonderful memories. We will treasure them forever. We love you!!
