Perry Jay Ruppert, 52, of Billings was born Sept. 2, 1958, to Glenn and Jean Ruppert in Billings. He passed away on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at St. Vincent Healthcare.

Growing up, Perry enjoyed trips to Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks, along with visiting grandparents with his parents and older sister, Hollie.

He grew up in a neighborhood filled with kids and formed many lasting friendships.

Perry graduated from West High School. He went on to work in the food service industry and worked for JB's for over 18 years. He made many friends and was loved and admired by his peers, colleagues and customers.

Perry loved with his whole heart and was known for being a generous and faithful friend. He enjoyed playing practical jokes on his friends and coworkers.

Some of Perry's special interests were shopping, finding meaningful gifts for friends and family, and photography. Perry loved animals and had a heart for helping homeless animals find families. Perry was always a vocal support for our troops.

He was faithful to take care of his parents when they needed additional care. He spent a lot of time with his mom while she was ill. They enjoyed many window shopping trips together. After her passing, he took on the task of caring for his dad. He was always there to make sure his dad was comfortable and fully stocked with Snickers Ice Cream Bars.

Perry was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Mae Ruppert; and grandparents John and Rose Ruppert and Francis and Olivia Anderson.

He is survived by his father, Glenn H. Ruppert of Billings; his sister, Hollie (Rick) Mysse; nephews Michael Mysse, Luke (Dalia, grand-nephews Andrew and Ayden) Mysse, Jonathan Mysse; and nieces Anna (E.G.) Hornbostel and Bethany Mysse. His sister and family live in Southern California.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Cremation & Funeral Gallery. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Billings Animal Shelter or an animal care charity of your choice.
